Cooking Time15 min

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped garlic
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped shallots
  • 1/2 pound baby bella mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 cup Marsala wine
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Directions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium high heat and add the butter and olive oil. Once the butter has melted and the oil is hot add the garlic, shallots and mushrooms to the pan. Lower the heat to medium and sauté the garlic, shallots, and mushrooms until tender.

  2. Stir in the flour and cook until the flour is absorbed into the vegetables (about 1 minute).

  3. Add the Marsala wine and deglaze the pan.

  4. Add the beef stock and cook until thickened. Stir in the cream and cook for another minute.

  5. Season with a bit of salt and pepper to your taste.

  6. Serve over sautéed or grilled chicken, pork, or steak.
