Up your mint julep game with this Prosecco Mint Julep. It’s a gorgeous sparkling cocktail recipe that’s ready just in time for your Derby Day celebrations. Serves4

Preparation Time5 min

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle Prosecco, well chilled
  • 4 ounces Bourbon
  • 4 sprigs fresh mint, leaves picked off the stems
  • Ice
  • Sugar, if desired

Directions

  1. In julep cups, place 4 to 5 mint leaves. Pour over 1 ounce of bourbon.  If you'd prefer a sweeter drink, add 1/2 teaspoon sugar at this time.

  2. Muddle the mint and bourbon in the bottom of the cup to release the flavors.

  3. Fill cup with ice and top with Prosecco, about 3-4 ounces. Enjoy!

Yum, this looks delicious! I never would have thought to include sparkling wine in a mint julep, but that's a great idea.
